Long Lumber & Supply Corp.

Our Company originated outside of Albany, NY in 1945. As a returning veteran, Richard Long Sr. drew on his wartime experience and constructed log cabins in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, frequently these homes were furnished with his handcrafted furniture. As his reputation for quality and service grew, it became necessary to expand and meet the increased demand. The current office Slingerlands was then expanded to become a building supply center. Everything needed to build a complete home including outdoor furniture and fencing.

During the 1960's and 1970's the demand for fencing, furniture and arbors increased allowing Long Lumber to expand not only locally but nationally, our products have seen all of the fifty states! With the new costumer demand Long Lumber found itself ever expanding, in the 1980’s an indoor showroom was added to demonstrate fencing, furniture and arbors.

Still located at our original office from 1945, Long Lumber has remained a family brand, now on its third generations of Longs. Long Lumber continues to manufacture cedar goods with the same quality production that made it so popular in 1945. We are proud of our quality products and know they will bring you years of enjoyment!

History

During the mid 1950's, there was a great demand from private parks and campgrounds for quality outdoor furniture, thus the furniture shop was expanded and casual furniture and picnic tables became introduced as catalog products. Long Lumber has been with the New York State Park System since it began, furnishing tables at the very first park to open, Bear Mountain State Park. Since then Long Lumber furnished the tables, benches, chairs and a host of other supplies for the Park System.
